Planning & Zoning

**The new 2020 Florida Building Code, 7th Edition became effective January 1, 2021 and the 2017 National Electrical code. **

The Town of Ponce Inlet actively enforces the 2020 Florida Building Code, the Code of Ordinances, and the Land Use & Development Code. Before doing any construction in your home or on your property, please contact the Planning and Development department to see if a permit is required. Permits are needed for almost all construction, remodeling, tree removal, fencing, decking, walkways, driveways, patios, etc. The permitting system exists to make sure the work is done correctly and safely. Getting a permit in advance is required by law and will minimize any unexpected expenses or delays.

Our documents are not currently available online, any Planning Department related documents can be obtained by contacting Stephanie Gjessing

Questions regarding regulations in the Town's Land Use and Development Code regarding zoning, setbacks, tree removal, and development should be directed to the Planning and Zoning Division staff.
